Moundsville Middle School Art teacher Tabetha Morgan was honored at the West Virginia Art Education Association (WVAEA) awards banquet on Saturday October 21, 2023, during the organization’s annual conference.

The organization uses the National Art Education Association rubric to determine state- level winners. Morgan achieved the Art Educator of the Year award for her accomplishments as an art teacher, and artist, as well as her service to the field of education and her work with the WVAEA.

The WVAEA’s goal is to promote and maintain the highest possible degree of quality instruction in art programs throughout the Mountain State and to recognize those educators that maintain the highest levels in achievement. WVAEA awards recognize excellence in service to the community, leadership and excellence in teaching.
