Marshall County Schools Unveils First-Ever Honors Choir

The choir directors of Marshall County Schools are pleased to announce the inaugural Marshall County Honors Choir.

This choir consists of 85 singers representing auditioned choristers from John Marshall High School, Cameron High School, Moundsville Middle School and Sherrard Middle School. The directors are thrilled Marshall County is able to offer this wonderful opportunity to its students.

Participating students will have the privilege of working with two esteemed directors:  Professor Ryan Keeling and Natalie Shaffer.  Professor Keeling is the Director of Choral Activities at West Liberty University, the Artistic Director of Voces Solis and the Assistant Conductor of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. Shaffer serves on the executive board for the West Virginia chapter of the American Choral Directors Association as Ethnic and Multicultural Chair and Social Justice Chair. She also serves as the artistic director of the Voices of Hope, a community choir in Morgantown.

The concert will be hosted by Cameron High School and held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 2:30 pm in the CHS Auditorium with doors opening at 2:00 pm. There is no cost of admission as tickets are not being sold; however, donations will be accepted to help fund future honors choirs.  Family, friends, administrators and teachers of participating students are encouraged to attend.
